And one of these challenges is outfitting your rental property. You can’t just throw in whatever furniture you want in your holiday rental. You have to make sure it fits the property and your budget. Choose furniture pieces that are easy to clean 

Maintenance and after-care are two of the most important and, not to mention, money-consuming tasks of owning a vacation rental. Fortunately, you can easily cut back on such expenses by putting in furniture pieces that can be easily cleaned every after use. 

If you're not offering some sort of cleaning service to your renters, you must be ready to shoulder the task yourself. Especially if you're just starting out in the rental industry, you must know which areas you can manage yourself at first in order to curb some expenses. 

Choose quality but not high-quality 

Luxury vacation rental aside, you must opt for semi-quality furniture when shopping for the furnishing of your rental property. High-quality pieces too often eat a significant portion of your financial pie, and must, therefore, be avoided. Instead, take your time looking for budget-friendly pieces that offer acceptable level of quality and stay away from expensive ones. 

Choose comfort and function first 

It’s clearly important to offer comfortable furniture to your renters. Your rental property is, in the first place, a home, too. You have to ensure that your tenants will feel at home as much as possible. Consider putting in pieces that they can use to relax and enjoy a lazy afternoon with. 

Choose furniture pieces that are well-suited for the location 

You can’t put winter-themed furniture pieces in a holiday rental located in the tropics. The overall style of your furnishings should reflect the nature of the property’s location without being too overbearing. If you want to avoid being overly thematic with your design, however, choose versatile and subtle styles that will go along perfectly with any travel destination. 

Choose furnishings that are family and child-friendly 

You can’t equip your vacation rental with furniture pieces with single adults in mind. Most of the time, vacationers travel in groups of four or more, and usually have kids along. You have to make sure that the furniture you're bringing inside the property is child-friendly not only for the travelers’ sake but for your wallet as well.
