Being attacked by thousands of "super offers" for Barcelona accommodation you can find it extremely difficult to find a nice and relatively cheap one. Moreover everyone knows, that there are some “pseudo” agencies offering apartments in Internet that do not really exist, but full the incautious clients. To avoid that all I have prepared the list of things you have to take into consideration while looking for a Barcelona holiday rental.

Searching

How we find an apartment depends on several factors, especially from our expectations, time and money. Basically, you have two options looking for a suitable Barcelona accommodation: on your own, or with help of agency, which collects the offers from different owners. In the second case we can choose an accommodation satisfying our needs fully. Using an assistance of agency helps us mainly to save time and what is more important, to save us of being deceived by the owner. There are many agencies working online, so we can book apartments much earlier before coming to Barcelona. Best to choose a proven company with experience in renting apartments.

After choosing agency

First of all read carefully all terms and conditions. It can take a bit time, but than you will profit with not being surprised by any fact. The agency has to be reputable and experienced in terms of renting holiday apartments. Helpful can be reading customers opinions and comments, or visiting forums.
As you have the agency check the apartments. Read carefully the descriptions!!! Remember, that the photos sometimes are made with a good camera, that “correct” the apartments imperfections.
Other things to care about:

-         Public transportation (buses, metro, train station, airport connection)
-         Location (most suitable is city centre: Las Ramblas, Plaza de Catalunya, Raval, Barrio Gotico)
-         Elevator (not in every old building in the city centre)
-         central heating (in southern countries as Spain, that is NOT a standard, on the other hand the air conditioning is)
-         Equipment (TV, DVD, kitchen accessories)
- if you have pets ask in advance if it is possible that it lives also in the apartment
